SHOULD MARYLAND NONPROFITS’ MEMBERS APPLY?

If you are a current member of nonprofits, you should apply to this program, too! Members will receive additional services on top of their current membership benefits.

MEMBERS ONLY: You can attend our conference for free! Limit one per organization.

MEMBERS ONLY: Schedule an hour-long consulting or training engagement.

You choose:

  • Spend an hour (on the phone or in-person) with one of our experts to help coach you through a specific issue.
  • Or, if you want to schedule a training for your board, call us and we can come to you!

ONCE I’M ACCEPTED, HOW DO I BEGIN ACCESSING RESOURCES?

Once you’ve been accepted, your first step is to log into our member community. Here, you’re able to have immediate access to easily searchable resources that can help you with your questions. In the online community, you can use our help desk “Ask a Question” feature to reach out to our staff directly or you can pose your questions to our entire member network to help you connect with others doing similar work.

HOW WILL I KNOW WHICH RESOURCES ARE APPROPRIATE FOR MY ORGANIZATION?

Take our capacity assessment! This quick online survey will help you identify where you may need to improve and what resources will be most helpful for you.

WHAT IF I WANT MORE RESOURCES?

Take a look at our upcoming events! We regularly schedule in-person learning and roundtable opportunities and online webinars that may be relevant to your needs. Our annual conference is held in the fall each year, and, as an NDC participant, you will receive a discounted conference rate.

HOW CAN I GET HELP IMPLEMENTING BEST PRACTICES?

Cohort learning could be a great option for you. Spend three months with our expert staff as we take you through our Nonprofit Basics curriculum. Join a cohort of your peers in one class each month which covers legal and regulatory compliance as well as board governance and management issues that can help your organization strengthen your leadership and raise more money. If you do the homework, by the end of this course you will have all the requirements in place to apply for our Standards Basics Recognition, recognized by funders throughout the state.

MEMBERS ONLY: If you apply and are successful, the cost of your application and first year’s license fee will be covered by this program.

Each class is open to 15 nonprofits on a first come, first-served basis. Each nonprofit may bring 2 people to the training, preferably one board member and one staff member.

  • Session 1: July 25, August 15, September 12
  • Session 2: September – November
  • Session 3: March – May 2018

WHAT IF MY ISSUE IS REALLY COMPLEX?

Sometimes, a sample policy or a professional development opportunity isn’t enough. If you’ve got a complex issue you need help solving, a limited number of NDC participants each year may apply for a 20-hour consulting engagement. Strong applicants will demonstrate that they have taken advantage of all the NDC services available to them and should show how a consulting engagement will have an impact on their ability to achieve their mission.
