Asela Rebecca Mejia is the Talent Acquisition Manager at MassMutual Greater Washington and loves the Latino Community and building bridges. She has spent most of her career in the Financial Services and Real Estate industries, gaining experiences in areas such as developing recruitment strategies, marketing, grassroots, business development and leading branding initiatives. While Talent Acquisitions is her primary job function by day, Rebecca also enjoys giving back to her community and volunteers her time in various non-profits.
Prior to her current role at MassMutual, Rebecca worked as a Latino Market Manager at New York Life. With over 10 years of the Financial Services arena, she also brings over 12 years’ experience working with the largest Real Estate Developers in New York City in various capacities. Rebecca has ensured to use her corporate background and knowledge to be a catalyst in the Hispanic Community. She proudly serves as the Vice-President for the Juan Pablo Duarte Institute in DC, Co-Chair to the Hispanic Business Council for the Dulles Regional Chamber of Commerce, At-Large board member at the Virginia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and a board member at The Latino Student Fund.
Rebecca was born and raised in Washington Heights in New York City, from immigrant parents. Her parents are one of the pioneers of the Dominican’s that arrived in the 60’s and have ran the original Heath Food Center in the Heights for 45 years. She currently resides in Prince George’s County with her husband and newly adopted 8 year old Texan boy. She also has 3 adult daughters and 3 granddaughters.
