Cesiah Fuentes

Cesiah Fuentes MLU Steering Committee

Born and raised in Maryland, Cesiah Fuentes is a full-time law student at the University of Baltimore School of Law. Prior to pursuing her juris doctorate, she served as Executive Director of the Maryland Legislative Latino Caucus in the General Assembly for three years.

Working with legislators and advocates, she supported the passage of critical legislation that would protect, uplift, and invest in Maryland’s Latine and immigrant communities. She has since worked with various nonprofits that provide legal services to indigent and disadvantaged populations. She is focused on becoming an immigrant rights attorney to fight the many intersectional barriers that prevent justice and equity from reaching our immigrant communities.

Her many years of collaborating with nonprofit organizations and community work led her to help with the creation of Maryland Latinos Unidos during the COVID-19 pandemic. Cesiah currently sits on the executive board of UB’s Immigration Law Association, is a member of UB’s Latin American Law Students Association, and was a 2022 UBalt Students for Public Interest Summer Fellow. She is expected to graduate in 2024.
