Indicator: Jurisdictions that report recreation/parks data and per capita operating expenditures- Source: NRPA Park Metrics (formerly PRORAGIS)

This indicator was chosen to highlight what should become a best practice for parks and recreation departments: i.e., the voluntary, publicly available reporting of data on various aspects parks department operations. Further, this indicator looks at per capita operating expenses in those jurisdictions reporting to allow analysis of trends and availability of parks services in reporting jurisdictions.
The caveat regarding these data; however, are that reporting is voluntary, and as such, only a handful of jurisdictions report at all, and those that do, do not do so every year.
