Internships

At Maryland Nonprofits, our internship program provides hands-on experience in the nonprofit sector. Opportunities are available in multiple departments and integrated programs.

  • Format: Internships can be virtual or hybrid.
  • Eligibility: Open to undergraduate and graduate students.
  • Availability: We host interns in the fall, spring, and summer semesters. Most interns join us for the summer.
  • Departments: Opportunities exist in advocacy, nonprofit governance, membership, consulting, learning, and more.
  • Integrated Programs: Internships may also be available with our Standards for Excellence Institute, Maryland Latinos Unidos (MLU), and the Maryland Association of Resources for Families and Youth (MARFY).
  • Compensation: Please note that our 2025 internships are unpaid.

Volunteering

Volunteers play a key role in helping us support nonprofits across Maryland. If you’re interested in lending your time and expertise, here are a few ways to get involved:

  • Teach a class or present your expertise – Share your knowledge with nonprofit professionals.
  • Support our annual conference – Help us create an impactful experience for attendees.
  • Office and administrative support – Assist with mailings, organizing materials, and other office tasks.
